How many times did you have to smile, knowing that your heart was broken, talking and acting like everything was okay? Yet you have to carry the world's weight on your shoulders! As a young girl, I did it. My broken pieces were heavy, but I brought them everywhere I went. I had many broken pieces that I dealt with mentally and spiritually. Broken home, broken family, you name it. I carried them with a smile and sometimes without a smile. I was constantly laughing to keep from crying, wearing a different mask with the same pain!"What goes on in my house, stays in my house," I was constantly being told, holding in pain. I did not have a positive outlet or a person to share my thoughts. I sought a relationship with the Lord, my Savior, at such a young age because he understood the words that were never spoken, the tears that ran down my face, and the prayers that I never prayed. He understood every piece and gave me peace that surpassed all my understanding. As you dive into "I Made it on Broken Pieces," I want you to know that the Bible says in Psalms 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." God is with me; that is why I can say I made it on my broken pieces!
